Ted Baker opened a store at Gateway Shopping Centre in Umhlanga, KZN. They asked me to do some shots of their interiors and store opening, which took place over two days. It was great to see so many people supporting a new business.

My brief for the Sanlam CEO roadshow was different to most other event photography briefs. The main part of my work is normally to shoot the event itself, but the events company who hired me asked for arrival photos and just a few shots of the CEO speaking. It was still nice to get away from my desk!

It’s always a pleasure to shoot for the summer beach brand Lexsea. I met Lexi and a model (whose name I’m embarrassed to say I can’t remember) at the Umhlanga beach. I shot the new range of beachwear on the rocks and around the lighthouse. It was really fun.

I do the photography for the Clicks Roadshow every year. It’s always very festive and joyous, with staff members coming out of their shells to celebrate the year’s wins. There’s also a talent competition, which generally ends up with the delegates in a frenzy. It’s always so much fun to shoot.

I was hired to shoot the three-day ITU Conference at the Durban ICC along with about five other photographers. It was such a big event with so many gatherings in multiple locations that the workload had to be spread around. President Cyril Ramaphosa was there on the opening night, which meant security was very tight.

Wishingwell Lodge is a lovely bed and breakfast located in Westville, KZN. It has many rooms that cater for travelling businesspeople and a lounge area that’s spacious and comfortable.

Huncon does signage and acrylic fabrication. I did some company photos of their staff and workshop as part of their new website design. They were a fun group of people to work with.

Insingizi Lodge is hidden far away in the Tala Valley. They’re a wedding venue with accommodation, and I shot all the rooms and facilities.

The SAIMC Annual Dinner was a special evening for some of the members who were retiring. They received gifts and handshakes all around in a flurry of tears. The party was wrapped up by a trio of comedians/singers.

The Dubai Tourism event was held at the Hilton Hotel. It was a demonstration to travel agencies about a new software platform which they had launched. There was also some multimedia and a few speeches.
