I enjoyed shooting the Riverside Day Spa because, for a change, I was just able to get on with it without directing people. It was a quiet day of shooting where I was able to focus my full attention on getting the best photos possible.

I received an email from an agency in Cape Town to take some headshots of one of their clients. Since the agency wasn’t local, they also asked me to arrange a venue and a make-up artist. It was a real pleasure to take Tara’s photos.

Action Coach is a business coaching company with teams all over the country. Each team does their own marketing, so as part of that, they hired me to do their staff photos. They were a really fun team to shoot.

The Lord Taverners launch was primarily a fundraising event, with a number of well-known sportsmen in attendance, including former South Africa cricketer Shaun Pollock. It was good fun, and some money was raised for a good cause.

The Alexander Forbes Conference was held in the grand ICC. It was entitled ‘Ready, Set, Retire’, which I thought was a good name. It was especially entertaining to see smart financial speakers trying to stay optimistic about the South African economy. I don't think even they believed what they were saying, but it was still a great day!

It’s quite unusual for many businesses to be celebrating seventy years of existence, although it could possibly be the smaller businesses and retail stores that don’t last too long. This event was spectacular, with some wonderful musicians performing.

Chilli Source Design is a small design agency in Kloof, KZN. They asked me to do some photos for their website and other social media channels. They were good fun and brought lots of little props and things to the photo shoot.

Motion Tronic are an automation business. They asked me to do their company photos for their website and social media. All the staff came across as very clever people, which I suppose one has to be to work in their industry. It was all a lot of fun, and we got some great photos.

The MOU signing ceremony was done between the KZN government and the Japanese technology company Hitachi. It was an agreement to desalinate the water at a plant on the prominent bluff landmark in Durban. I’ve sometimes wondered how much money must have changed hands to make this happen and if it was worth it.

1st Call Group have recently opened offices in my home town, so they asked me to come and do some photos for their website and marketing. I was lucky to have cooperative staff and management who were happy to suspend operations briefly whilst I did the photos.
