Lexi wanted a very natural-looking photo shoot for her catalogue and was really easy going too. She decided to do the modelling herself for the first shoot, with a view to hiring a professional model next time. She was full of fun, and she only asked that she didn’t want lots of face photos since it was a clothing shoot.

Kangelani Lodge is a stunning venue that’s just up the road from me. They needed new photos for their website, so off I went, and I was there a few minutes from my house. I did the photos for an hour or two, and it was such a peaceful shoot.

I was hired to take photos of some presentations that some employees who had been in a workshop gave to the directors of the company. All of them passed and did well, so the mood was good, and everyone was relaxed. I did, however, suggest that I should have rather shot video footage, that way they could refer back to it afterwards. Anyway, they asked for photos, so I did photos.

It’s not often I get to shoot events on weekdays, especially during working hours, so I always jump onto it when the opportunity presents itself. It was a launch event for HP computers, held at a posh hotel.

The All Africa Business Leaders Awards was quite a big deal. It was broadcast nationally on CNBC and was attended by some very important people, such as the Minister of Finance at the time, Pravin Gordhan.

The PGC conference was one of the most sprawling events I’ve ever worked at. It was attended by Nelson Mandela’s grandchildren, along with many other politically connected people. The music legend Ray Phiri performed an excellent set of African Jazz.

The Astrazeneca Respiratory Expert Forum took place over two days at the Elangeni Hotel. There were speakers and delegates from all over the world in attendance, and the discussion forums were quite lively compared to normal.

Glodina was brought back to life recently after a significant government investment. However, before that all happened, I was asked by their web designer to do photos of the staff and facilities. I spent the day there, and they brought lots of ideas forward to me, including a soccer team and choir.

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the day than at the stunning Brahman Hills in the KZN Midlands. The fresh air and open spaces made it a day to remember. I was asked to do lots of photos for their website and social media.

For the first time ever, I was asked not to shoot the actual event but the people mingling after the event. It was most bizarre, but I was happy to oblige, and I did some wonderful photos of the staff having a good time.
